This procedure most often is performed on children between 4 and 14 years in age. This surgery may be a medical necessity for some individuals. In these type cases the surgery may be covered by insurance.

The length of procedure usually runs 2 to 3 hours.
For this type procedure the patient, if a young child is given general anesthesia. Older children and adults are given a general or local anesthesia, with sedation.
Depending on the extent of the surgery a patient will normally undergo an outpatient surgery.

For most ear surgery operations the patient will experiences potential side effects consisting of throbbing, aching, swelling, redness, and numbness. All of which are temporary in their duration.
In addition there are other associated risks with this procedure that include the risk of infection of ear cartilage, excessive scarring, and blood clots requiring draining. Some surgeries could result in unequal or non-natural looking ears. In these and protrusion re occurrence cases, additional surgery could be required.

For most patients the recovery time needed should be between 5 to 7 days.
It will be necessarily to avoid strenuous activity and contact sports for 1 or more months.

In this procedure the results are typically permanent in nature.

Read more about Cosmetic Ear Stapling. Cheek implants happen to be a top-notch method of improving and augmenting the contours of the face. For plumping up cheeks there’s more than one form of implant; each has different kinds of materials. Here are a few reasons why you’d want to get cheek implants.

At a fundamental level, cheek implants (also called cheek augmentation) help improve a person’s facial looks and boost self-esteem. Cheek implants let a face develop a more proportional and balanced appearance. Cheek implants on older patients allow a face a fuller look, especially if the face is looking sunken in, drawn, or aged. At times younger patients having flat cheekbones go for cheek implants to get the high cheekbone look of fashion models.

Lift and fullness are the top reasons for making a choice to go under the knife and have cheek implants done. Cheek implants can be implanted laterally, frontally, or sometimes even both. The first consultation a patient has with the surgeon will identify what is required for her to get the desired look.

There are, of course, risks for any type of cosmetic surgery procedures. Bruising, bleeding, infection, numbness, scarring and swelling are an issue with any operation undertaken. The risks specific to check augmentation include the possibility the cheek implant could spontaneously shift location in the face, and that the patient won’t be happy with their new facial look after it is done.

Cheek augmentation comes in five different types of materials. The choices are hydroxyapatite, silastic, gore-tex, polyethylene, and cadaver bone. Hydroxyapatite is a ceramic that resembles sea coral and is chemically similar to bone and hard tissue. Silastic is an inert silicone rubber, that is both solid and flexible and is used for prosthetics. Polyethylene also looks like coral but it is a plastic. Yes, Gore-tex is actually the same material that is used to manufacture raincoats; one of it’s advantage is that it does not get rejected by the body and so is permanent. The last, cadaver bone is self-evident. It is sterilized bone that is taken from human donors who have passed away.

Cheek augmentation can be performed in different methods and as previously noted, the needs of each patient will be the final factor as to what method the surgeon settles on. In general, what occurs during cheek implant surgery is that a “pocket” is created over the tissue of the cheek, which enables the implant to properly fit inside. The implant incision is put in one of three places- the conjunctiva (or inner surface of the eye), inside the mouth or in the crease lines outside the eye. The cheek implants may be either solid or porous, and that depends on the patient also.
Cheek implant surgery is most often done on an outpatient basis and is conducted under either general or local anesthetic, whichever the patient prefers. Cheek augmentation surgery takes an average of 45 to 60 minutes to perform.
Visit medopedia.com for information on bariatric weight loss surgery and gastric banding surgery.
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Antoinette_Boulay

A 5 Minute Nose Job!

Most people are not completely satisfied with their noses. For many people changing the shape of the nose involves having nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty is performed in the operating room and lasts typically 1- 3 hours.

A relatively new procedure performed by many plastic surgeons is non-surgical rhinoplasty. This is a minimally invasive procedure that takes less than 5 minutes to perform. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is performed in the office using no anesthesia. Using a small needle, a tissue filler such as Restylane is injected in two areas of the nose. The result is that hump is hidden and appears to be rotated and better defined. The improved shape of the nose is obvious immediately. Visit our website to view before and after photographs of rhinoplasty patients.
The results of injections may last as long as 6-8 months. Various injectable agents are available with different duration time. Bruising is rare and swelling is minimal. Patients may return to work the same day. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a great option for patients who do not want surgery and wish immediate results with almost no recovery. Prior to the procedure patients are ask to avoid taking Aspirin, Motrin, Advil, or other medications that may promote bruising. This procedure is frequently combined with injection of the tissue filler in the face to decrease the appearance of smile lines and wrinkles. Some patients prefer to undergo lip augmentation at the same time. After trying non-surgial rhinoplaty, certain patients may later to decide to have permanent changes and request a formal surgical rhinoplasty.
Vladimir Grigoryants, MDPlastic Surgeon, Glendale CA
(800)540-0508http://www.vgplasticsurgery.com/
Los Angeles plastic surgeon specializing in Los Angeles rhinoplasty.
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Vladimir_Grigoryants

Rhinoplasty (Nose job)

What is it?
Nose jobs are not just for women. Many men find that a rhinoplasty operation can improve their facial appearance dramatically, and plastic surgeons are learning more about how to make men look they way they want to. Rhinoplasty for men is a growing trend, and it looks like it will continue growing in the future. As with most procedures, it is an operation that will improve facial harmony and symmetry.

In regards to a nose job, a male's procedure should be approached differently to that of a woman's. There is little difference in the actual procedure itself. The main difference lies in the fact that what looks good for a man and what looks good for a woman are different.
The average angle between a person's nose is 90 to 120 degrees, but this too differs between the sexes. Women generally look better with a larger angle, while men usually prefer a smaller one. This is true also of the angle between the nose and the forehead. Men have more pronounced brows, and this has to be taken into consideration as well.
The most important thing for a person's nose, no matter whether they are male or female, is to be in harmony with the rest of their face. This balance is the key.

Am I a candidate?

Many men find themselves getting a nose job less for nose shaping than to downplay undesirable features of their nose. Some don't like their noses because they are just too big. This is a pretty common problem. A big nose, aside from just being unattractive, draws away from your face's other features. It tends to dominate the face, so that people looking at you don't see other features like your eyes, cheekbones or mouth.

The most common reason for rhinoplasty in men is to reduce the size of the nose, although that is not the only thing that a nose job can achieve.

Lots of guys go to the plastic surgeon for other nose alterations than reducing the size ...
For example, your nose may droop. A drooping nose can really hurt your profile, as well as give your face an over-all droopy appearance.

Another nose tip problem is what has often been referred to as the "ski jump" nose. This is a nose that points upward at the tip, generally considered an undesirable facial feature. Rhinoplasty can correct both of these conditions, while keeping the length and overall shape of your nose the same.

Many are unhappy with the bump in their nose. In the plastic surgery industry, this is called a "dorsal hump." A dorsal hump is particularly noticeable in profile, and it is a facial feature most feel they could do without.

Rhinoplasty is often employed to help out those who have trouble breathing because of the shape of their nose. This can be caused by a deformity in the shape of the nose, and rhinoplasty can take care of it.

Men often go to a plastic surgeon to fix a broken nose that never got back into shape just right. The truth is that one accident that knocks your nose out of place can leave its imprint for a lifetime. This is one of the areas where rhinoplasty for men is most successful.

The procedure
The procedure can either be done under general anaesthesia with sedation or under local anaesthetic. With most operations done through incision on the inside of the nose, some are done using small outside incisions. This is usually done when the width and flare of the nostrils are being modified. From here the surgeon is able to lift the skin separating it from the bone and cartilage, before working on reshaping the nose itself. The bridge of the nose may be filed down or a more dramatic reshaping may need careful repositioning of cartilage etc to achieve the desired result. The cartilage is then sculpted to refine the tip before the incisions are closed with stitches.

What are the risks?
Risks include:
- postoperative nasal bleeding
- infection

Risks here are pretty minimal, and the greatest risk of them all is disappointment. This usually occurs due to the patients' unrealistic expectations. Another issue is a communication breakdown between the patient and surgeon in regards to the desired result. IMPROVEMENT NOT PERFECTION Should be the goal of this operation.

What are the costs?
Average Cost UK: £4,000
Average cost US: $6,500

Additional Times
In the theatre: 1 hour
In the hospital: Overnight stay
Off work: for 2 weeks
Return to normal activities: Within 2 weeks
Desired Results: Within 12 months

For rhinoplasty, Dallas men who are unhappy with their noses need to research thoroughly. Talking with your plastic surgeon increases chances of success. A rhinoplasty specialist can give you the nose you want. http://www.usaplasticsurgery.com/

Five Criteria For A Good Rhinoplasty Candidate

Rhinoplasty, commonly referred to as a “nose job," is one of the most common procedures performed in the American and UK plastic surgery community. Even though rhinoplasty is very common, it is not appropriate for everyone. If you are interested in undergoing rhinoplasty, the guide below, including five important criteria for a rhinoplasty candidate, will help you to determine if the procedure is right for you.

No. 1: Your General Health
Before undergoing any surgery, you should consult with your physician about your general health and ability to undergo surgery. Even if you are relatively healthy, some medications may cause complications during surgery. If you are on any type of medication at all, speak with your doctor to see if your prescription might create such problems. If, however, your health has been poor, you may not be a good candidate for rhinoplasty. Even a minor infection can cause problems during your surgery or recovery phase.

So be sure to make sure you are in good health before going through with a rhinoplasty procedure. Candid discussions with both your physician and your surgeon will allow you to deduce whether or not you are in good enough health to undergo the surgery. Furthermore, if your health is quite poor, your surgeon should refuse to perform rhinoplasty.

No. 2 and 3: Your Emotional Wellness and Reasons for Getting Rhinoplasty
In dire emotional and psychological times, some people believe changing themselves on the outside will help them to cope with the problems on the inside. This is rarely, if ever, true. Rhinoplasty, and any other type of cosmetic surgery for that matter, will not help to heal a broken heart, cure depression or fill an emotional void. Be sure to check in with yourself about why you want to undergo rhinoplasty. If you find that you simply want to improve your looks, your comfort level or your health, then you are probably a good candidate for rhinoplasty.

No. 4: Your Age
It is important that adolescents and teenagers interested in rhinoplasty understand that it is best to wait until their face is finished developing before going through with the procedure. Whether youngsters want to undergo rhinoplasty for cosmetic or medical purposes, it is important for them to wait until their faces have matured. Most plastic surgeons recommend that girls wait until they have reached 14 or 15 to have rhinoplasty. The age is slightly later for boys. If a rhinoplasty is performed before an adolescent face has completely matured, a follow-up procedure may be required to correct any shifting that take place during the maturation process.
Not only can this create physical problems, but it can also double your rhinoplasty cost.

No.5: Your Expectations
Although rhinoplasty can significantly change your physical appearance, it is important to be realistic about what you can achieve through the surgery. Speak very frankly with your doctor about how you hope to look after your rhinoplasty procedure has been completed and the swelling has subsided. It is best to go into any plastic surgery expecting improvement, not perfection.
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Diane_Goettel

Chin Implant (augmentation)

What is it?
This is a procedure whereby on may want to enhance his chin for either a more masculine look, better facial symmetry or balance, for example, an average sized nose may look out of proportion due to the small sized chin.

What is the procedure?
Here, there are a few options available, the first being where a silicone implant is used to enhance one's chin, the other being where the actual chin bone itself is slid forward (sliding genioplasty), and the final one being an injection of a small tissue filler to the area. The latter however is not permanent whereas the other two are.

For the implant procedure the patient is usually put under local anaesthesia plus sedation, or general anaesthetic. The implant is placed through a small incision in side the lower lip or just beneath the chin.

For the sliding genioplasty the surgery is also done under local anaesthesia plus sedation, or general anaesthetic. An incision is made through the bottom lip where the surgeon will then cut the bone with a sliding saw then pushing it forward. It is then held together by wires. Surgeons believe that this type of surgery offers the best long term results.
The injection filler procedure can easily be done within 15-30 minutes and offers an ideal solution for those who fear the surgeon's scalpel.

Am I a candidate?
The goal of the chin is to give greater definition to your chin and provide facial harmony and balance. A weak chin will make you nose look larger, and make your neck seem fleshy. This procedure can be used in conjunction with a face lift where the chin is underdeveloped or where shrinkage of soft tissue volume has taken place. In order to balance the face, those who are candidates for a chin augmentation may also be possible candidates for a rhinoplasty.
If the sliding genioplasty method is utilised, then the patient may also need dental realignment.

What are the risks?
Although minor there are risks associated with this procedure.
- You could get an infection during the operation. Oral hygiene is important
- Swelling and bruising after surgery can be extensive
- The sliding genioplasty is permanent whereas the implant can be removed. However there is always the opportunity for a corrective surgical procedure
- The chin implant may shift out of re-alignment thus requiring more surgery to rectify the problem

injectible fillers could be a great advantage here, if you don't like the look then at least you are comforted in knowing that its effect will only last a few months, however, if you like the new look you can then decide to continue with the injections or go for the one off operation thus saving you money in the long run.

What are the costs?
Average cost UK- £3,500- implants
- £4,000- genioplasty

Average cost US- $6,500- implants
- $7,000- genioplasty

Average Times
1 hour in the operating theatre
Overnight stay
Off work for 10 days
Return to normal activities in 2 weeks
Best results are seen in about 3 months

Bicep and Tricep implant

What is it?
These are implants which create greater muscle definition in the bicep, tricep area. It is sometimes advised to have both done as symmetry is important here. However, this does depend on the patient and his/her needs.

What is the procedure?
An incision is made under the arm where the implants will then be placed either under the bicep, tricep or both. This procedure is done under general anaesthetic and usually takes about one and a half to two hours. A dressing is placed over this and the patient can usually she the results immediately. There may be some mild discomfort, and normal activities can usually be resumed within 4 weeks.

Am I a candidate?
Usually the best candidates for this procedure are men, who after rigorous muscular activity, still aren't happy with the size of their bicep, triceps. However, as long as an individual is relatively fit and healthy, anyone can qualify for this procedure. Basically, it is for anyone who desires to have bigger and well defined arms.

What are the risks?
Although complications here are rear, possible bicep/tricep surgery could result in implant shifting, bleeding, numbness, scarring and nerve damage.

What are the costs?
Average cost UK: £4,200
Average Cost US : $6,500

Average Times:
in the operating theatre: 1 1/2 - 2hours
In the hospital: Usually as a day patient
Resume normal activities: Within 4 weeks

Calf Implants

What is it?
One popular form of implant is the calf implant. The calf implant is inserted in the calf area to give it a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. If a person is considering a calf implant it is important that he or she has a good understanding of what is involved with the process. It is also important to understand what to expect before and after the surgery.

Am I a candidate?
There are many reasons a person may wish to get a calf implant. First of all, no matter how much a person works out, he or she may not be able to get the nicely defined calf muscle appearance. There are simply some individuals who are more or less genetically predisposed to the appearance of these muscles. Men will generally get a calf implant to look more muscular, whereas women will generally get a calf implant the bottom part of their legs more symmetrical with their thighs.

Another reason a person may wish to get a calf implant is due to illness. Certain illnesses like Polio and Club Foot can create a very contracted calf muscle appearance. By getting a calf implant, this appearance can be corrected to look more natural. Finding out if a person is a good candidate for calf implants prior to seriously considering the procedure is important. First of all, to be a good candidate a person must be in decent health. Non-smokers recover better than smokers do from any type of cosmetic surgery, calf implants included. Also, a person must be ready to have his or her mobility restricted for 4-6 weeks after the surgery is complete.

The procedure:
There are certain things patients can expect when getting calf implants. First of all, a person can expect to go under general anesthesia during the procedure. Patients may also have to keep their legs elevated for at least a few days after the procedure, with short periods of walking in between leg elevations. Full physical activity cannot be assumed until four to six weeks after the surgery is complete.

Although some scarring may occur, this can be minimized by following the doctor's instructions regarding care after surgery. There are also certain treatments to prevent scarring, which may be prescribed by the patient’s surgeon. Precautions must also be taken against infection. A person can generally walk normally after around three weeks.

What are the risks?
Although a rare possibility, one risk is deep vein thrombosis. Also, it is very important that patients are not taking oral contraceptives and have stopped smoking 4 weeks prior to the operation.

What are the costs?
Average cost UK: £4,500
Average cost US: $8,000

. Whether it's liposuction, breast work, facial surgery or treatment for signs of aging, we usually imagine that women are the patients.

The truth is that men, too, can benefit from plastic surgery. Anyone can be dissatisfied with their looks and imagine something better. In recent years, a growing number of men are finally getting their plastic surgery done and getting the face they want.
What does this mean to you?

It means that you can improve your face or body, too, and the industry has developed to accommodate your needs. There are lots of options for men.

Abdominoplasty - This is a fancy technical word for getting rid of that gut. Men, even more than women, have a tendency to develop a big belly later in life, and the fatty tissues in this area are especially stubborn and hard to get rid of. In response to this demand, plastic surgery clinics offer special, localized fat removal operations to get rid of the spots that trouble you most.

Brow Lift - Although anybody can get a brow lift, it is most popular with older men who develop creases and wrinkles in this area. The brow is important for expressing emotions, and it is very noticeable when it sags with age. In most brow lift operations, the plastic surgeon lifts the muscle and other tissue under the skin so that your brow looks natural.

Chin Augmentation - A weak chin can really hurt your profile, and make other awkward facial features stand out. The chin really balances out a man's face. With chin augmentation, your plastic surgeon puts an implant in your chin to make it look more natural and balanced. Chin implants can be tiny and barely noticeable, if that is all it takes to make the face look better.

Arm Lift - No matter how much you exercise or eat right to keep the fat off, excess fat tends to build up in men's upper arms. Even if you are in good overall shape, your upper arms may appear saggy and fat. This is why many men get arm lifts. Plastic surgeons do this by removing fat from the arms with liposuction, and also tightening the skin, since much of this extra tissue is just skin.

Post Bariatric Surgery - When a younger person loses weight, the skin naturally tightens up. But, when older men lost a large amount of weight, the skin often sags and can cause hygiene problems. This is why plastic surgeons have developed post bariatic surgery. This procedure is designed to tighten up the skin so that it looks natural, and can be done on virtually any part of the body.

Otoplasty - This is a type of surgery that reduces the size of the ears. Unusually large ears can be a source of self-consciousness and ridicule, and this surgery is often sought by men whose ears overshadow their other facial features. This is a short procedure that leads to a more natural look which is usually barely noticeable to others.

Plastic surgery is not just for women anymore. More and more men are choosing to improve their faces, bodies and self-images by talking to a plastic surgeon, and there is a growing number of options available.

Men in Boston seeking plastic surgery should consult an expert in male surgery. While the surgical techniques are the same for men and women, the results should be very different. One such Boston cosmetic surgeon understanding the unique needs of men is is board certified and has been in private practice since 1981. http://www.drmossthebeautyboss.com/

Male Pectoral Implants

What is it?
The clue is pretty much in the title. No matter how often men workout down the gym they can never get the desired result for the chest area. Many decide to undergo this procedure to enhance the 'pecs' giving the area a more defined, muscular look. This procedure is popular in the US amongst men, however it is yet to catch on in the UK. Pectoral implants are also useful for those who may have a congenital defect or who have lost a part of this muscle due to an accident. It can help in producing a symmetrical and natural looking chest.

The procedure:
Under local anaesthetic, an incision is made and the silicone implant is placed underneath the armpit and placed above the nipple to fill out the upper chest. Often, an endoscope or a small camera is used to guide the surgeon so incisions are kept to a minimum.

Am I a candidate?
This procedure has been very successful in those who have a deformity or who have suffered an accident, and want a symmetrical, natural look. This procedure can also be successful for weightlifters/bodybuilders who want a more defined chest area because their well developed muscles disguise the implants very effectively.
Some patients decide to combine this operating with Male Breast reduction(Gynaecomastia)

What are the risks?
It is vital that you choose the right size. undersized implants could resemble a female chest whereas over sized ones could make the torso appear overly short and out of proportion. Risks are rare in this day and age, however in some cases, bleeding from the cut tissues leading to bruising and an accumulation of blood under the skin can occur, infection, extensive bleeding and a displacement of the implant can also occur. In some extreme cases the implant may have to be taken out.

What is the cost?
Average cost UK: £4,000
Average cost US: $6,000

Other useful information:
Duration in theatre: 1 hour
Duration in hospital: Overnight stay
Time off work: 5 days
Return to normal activities: 4-6 weeks
Best results seen: 3 months

Penile Enhancement

What is it?
A procedure by which to increase the girth, length of the penis, or both.

The procedure:
There are two different kind of procedures available for this. The first being a fat transfer by which fat is extracted from a certain part of the body and then injected in to the penis, the other procedure is done by cutting the suspensory ligament, thus adding an increase in length by an inch or an inch and a half.

Am I a candidate?
Many doctors disagree with performing this operation for they believe that the operation itself is too risky. Most men are within the average size range therefore due to moral obligations most surgeons will not pursue it any further. The surgery itself can be very painful and its overall success rate is unknown due to the small number of case studies.

What are the risks?
In regards to the fat transfer procedure mentioned above, the results can be short lived, and there is also the risk of infection, a loss of sensitivity, impotence. The cutting of the suspensory ligaments could result in a weaker erection.

The cost:
Average cost UK: £4,500
Average cost US: $6,000

Liposuction

What is it?
It is a straightforward technique to remove localised areas of fat. It is very often used in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures such as a face lift or neck lift. Thigh, hips, buttocks, abdomen, chin and knee can also be liposculptured.

The procedure
Traditional, Ultrasound-assisted and Tumescent are the three different types of liposuction. Whilst under anaesthetic a metal tube called the cannula is pierced under the skin, and by repeated forward and backward movements, small fat tissue globules are broken up. A vacuum pump which is attached to the cannula removes this awkward fat.

In Traditional liposuction, a jabbing motion is used to remove the fat. In Ultrasound-assisted liposuction, fat is broken down through the use of sound waves, which isn't as painful but more time consuming. The added bonus also with the Ultrasound technique is that the waves treat the underside of the skin, causing it to shrink as it heals, resulting in a lifting effect of the skin. This allows more fat to be removed. This type of liposuction can also be used to help reduce cellulite.
The Tumescent liposuction involves the injection of a special anaesthetic liquid causing the fat pockets to become swollen or tumescent. The cannula can therefore move more smoothly under the skin

Am I a candidate?
Liposuction can help in remove awkward areas of fat but it is not a miracle cure for obesity. It is desirable to have good skin elasticity otherwise wrinkling or waviness may occur. This may prove a problem for some older patients. The procedure is thus best suited for younger adults who diet, continue to exercise, but cannot get rid of certain fat deposits. For men the popular area for treatment are the abdomen and 'love handles'.

What are the risks?
Although liposuction is one of the most common and successful procedures in the cosmetic surgery World, it is important to highlight that some problems may occur.

Waviness or wrinkles may appear on surface contour of the treated area. The result could be permanent. It is important to realise that there may be some skin loss which could lead to scarring. As a result a skin graft repair would be needed.
The incision points may not heal properly, leading to complications such as infection.

These are however rare possibilities but it is paramount that one knows the ins and out before making an informed decision.

What is the cost?
Average cost for the UK: £2,500+ (depending on the areas treated)
Average cost for the US: $3,750+

Ultrasonic liposuction can cost 15-20 percent more than the traditional method.

It's About Time!!

In this modern society, beauty and looks are valued an awful lot. As a result, men from all walks of life desire plastic surgery for aesthetic reasons. Men typically crave for a perfect nose, a slender waistline, a rejuvenated face, and normal-shaped ears. The key intent is to attain an enhanced look, which in turn instills a sense of confidence and self-esteem. Perfect features, acquired after cosmetic surgery, do widen a man’s social horizon and certainly help him in wooing pretty women.

Men may also opt for plastic surgery to defy signs of aging. Wrinkles, facial marks and blemishes, unwanted hair growth, all can be effectively erased through plastic surgery. Plastic surgery has always been the primary choice for women when it comes to personal enhancement. However, with increasing awareness about the surgery prospects, more men are lining up for plastic surgery procedures than ever before. In the present scenario, it would not be surprising if a man comes up with a request for a facial plastic surgery so as to acquire the looks of his favorite Hollywood actor.

Men’s facial cosmetic surgery poses greater problems than womens. This is becauses male facial skin has a richer blood supply. And since male faces bleed more during surgery, there is a possible risk of temporary pooling of blood under the skin, after surgery. Other factors that need to be considered for male facelift are the extent of beard growth and the hairline. Though advanced equipment is capable of averting any danger or risks, male cosmetic surgery is certainly more complex than the female counterpart.

Other cosmetic surgery procedures, including eyelid surgery, nose surgery, liposuction, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), and ear reshaping, are performed in much the same way for men and women. Plastic surgery provides a boost for men in their business life as well as love life. There is simply no reason why men would shun plastic surgery.

Nicola publishes an informational site about liposuction surgery, with articles and news, tips and views to help you make the correct choice about Male Liposuction Surgery at http://lipo.plastic-surgery-info.net
This article may be reprinted in full so long as the resource box and the live links are included intact. Enlarged male breasts have been successfully treated by liposuction breast reduction technique.

Pseudo-gynecomastia and gynecomastia
During puberty in males, as a temporary condition, excess breast tissue develops which usually subsides in 1 to 3 years. However, in some cases, the enlargement of the male breast does not subside and remains permanent. This results in the male breast resembling a female breast.
The normal male breast contains both glandular and fat tissue. The glandular tissue, surrounded by fatty tissue, is generally situated under the nipple as a localized lump. A mammogram can determine how much glandular tissue and how much fatty tissue is in the male breast. A male with excessive fat tissue has an enlarged breast known as pseudo-gynecomastia, and it occurs in many men as they become older and in obese younger men.
Liposuction breast reduction can be effectively done on pseudo-gynecomastia as it contains more fat tissue than glandular tissue. Gynecomastia is an enlarged male breast, which contains more glandular tissue than fat tissue. The fat tissue can be removed by liposuction; however, removal of the glandular tissue requires surgical excision by mammaplasty. An enlarged male breast may also be the result of a breast tumor, which only a mammogram can prove.
Gynecomastia can happen due one or many reasons like metabolic and hormonal disorders, non adequate testosterone, hyperthyroidism, too much starvation, medication after effects, too much drinking of beers and other alcoholic drinks, testicular cancer, breast tumors and steroid and marijuana use
There are few drugs having side effects of gynecomastia Amiloride (Moduretic), Amiodarone (Cordarone), Antiandrogens (cyproterone), Anticancer drugs (cytotoxic)
Gynecomastia can be removed by surgery, medication wrc..

How liposuction breast reduction surgery can help?
Liposuction breast reduction can help to produce a smaller version of the breasts. Usually the size changes, but the shape of the breast remains the same. The male gets a manlier shaped breast and his self-esteem increases, as the attending anxiety and embarrassment in participating in some activities is eliminated. After the fat tissues are removed with liposuction, specific breast exercises can be done to tighten the glandular tissues and give a look of manliness to the overall chest area. There may be a lumpiness and swelling experienced for few weeks postoperatively, which subsides in 2 to 4 months.

Is hospitalization required for treating gynecomastia?
Usually, it is done on an outpatient basis, and no hospitalization is required as general anesthesia is used. The majority of patients can return to their normal activities within few days.

Do insurance pay for gynecomastia?
Usually, the reimbursement for gynecomastia is not done by major insurance companies.

What is the Cost?
Average cost UK: £2,500
Average cost US: $4,500

Possible risks and complication in Liposuction for breast reduction
The risks of liposuction breast reduction are similar to any surgical operation. However, the risks are minor and can be treated with liposuction breast reduction techniques.
Arindam is expert on Obesity Management. In this article, I will touch upon some of the most frequently asked questions, as well as provide you with in-depth answers to help you better decide if this treatment or procedure is right for you.

What are Microdermabrasion treatments?
It is a procedure where the top layer of your skin is removed usually by aluminum oxide crystals. The top layer of your skin contains all of it is skin cells and by removing them, not only will you clear up your complexion but you also stimulate the growth of new cells to be produced more rapidly.

What are some of the main benefits of this treatment?
All benefits you can enjoy from this process revolve around reversing the visible signs of aging. Oftentimes, this is accomplished by restoring a radiance and healthy glow to your skin, removing blemishes such as acne scars, decreasing visibility of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as reducing the oiliness of your skin and giving your skin a smoother texture and a more hydrated appearance.

Is this procedure painful?
In general, microdermabrasion treatments are nonintrusive and not very painful at all. The only exception are for those who have very sensitive skin or who have active keloids, warts or unstable diabetes. Otherwise, the only pain you may feel is around sensitive areas like your eyes and lips.
Expect to feel a slight irritation like you would with a mild sunburn. If your skin becomes sensitive, then the doctor or person giving you the treatment can turn down the machine.

Will it take more than one session?
Often, immediate results can be seen directly after the first session. However, for best results it is recommended that you take multiple sessions, usually three to six. Oftentimes your doctor will set up a schedule with you, where you get a series of treatments, usually with each treatment being around 10 days apart.

What will it cost me for the treatment?
Costs vary, but usually are within the range of $100-$200 per session. In this article, I will describe the process of this type of skin treatment to you, to help you better understand the benefits you will receive if you decide to go ahead with this type of procedure.

It is obvious why microdermabrasion benefits your skin. First, the tfine crystals are used to remove top layer of your skin, which contains all of your dead skin cells, as well as surface blemishes. Because these crystals are not absorbed by the skin, there is very little chance for any allergic reaction to occur or any bad side effect to happen.

Also, this is a nonintrusive procedure, and requires no local anesthesia to be performed. It is very painless, and often the whole procedure is done within 20 minutes. Even within the first treatment, changes to the skin can be observed. Usually you'll feel the skin has a smoother texture, and a healthier radiance and appearance.

If you have had dilated pores, they will now be less visible, and more open. Additionally, fine lines and surface wrinkles will be diminished, or in some cases completely gone. With repeated sessions, you'll notice the oiliness of your skin has decreased as well.

If you have any blemishes or discoloration on the surface of your skin, they will disappear as well, and in some cases it is known to also successfully treat acne and remove acne scars.
When the skin treatment processes is first done, it will not only remove the dead skin cells but will also stimulate the growth of new cells with the result that the cells will be produced more frequently and grow in larger sizes. This will result in a more hydrated skin which gives you a better complexion and look.

In effect, what you are doing is removing the blemishes on the surface of the skin and also decreasing all of the visible signs of aging. Basically, this is done because you are removing the dead skin cells and causing a small amount of trauma to the skin.

The skin will then build itself back up just like your muscles will -- to be stronger and healthier. This is why your complexion improves and your skin texture become smoother.
In conclusion, I have given you several different microdermabrasion benefits that you can reliably expect to get when you undergo this procedure.
Want to learn more? The way it works is very simple -- a machine is used to remove the uppermost layer of skin to get rid of dead skin cells and clear up and treat the skin।

Typically, a machine is used which acts both to "blast" aluminum oxide crystals onto the skin and suck up used crystals and dead skin cells. The results are stunning and instant -- right away you will notice that your skin has a fresher look, and a more radiant glow to it.

It will also cut back on the amount of damage done by sun to your skin, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, treat your pores and de-texture your skin, leaving you with a smooth surface and a youthful appearance।

Microdermabrasion has also been referred to as "power peeling" or particle resurfacing. The whole process is very simple and only takes you 20 to 30 minutes to complete it. Afterwards, there is no down time for recovery, and you're able to go about your normal course.
Typically, treatments are given in a series, and the price range goes from as low as $75 per session to upwards of $200. Currently, the national average is $135 per session। However, if you complete a series of sessions you may get a discounted rate. Also, your cost per session will depend upon where you live.

This process is not very painful at all, and no local anesthesia is required to give to the patient. If the patient's skin is sensitive, then more treatments may be needed to achieve desirable results.
The only precaution you need to apply after your treatment is to make sure you stay out of extended exposure from the sun, and that you apply sunscreen, and make sure all of the dead skin cells and aluminum oxide crystals have been removed from your skin।

Finally, don't forget to explore the home options that are available to you when it comes to this treatment process. There are now variety of different home treatment cares which include a microdermabrasion tool, applicator pad, and crystal cream which are used in conjunction to treat the skin।

In conclusion, I have given you some information about what microdermabrasion is, as well as some of the benefits and costs that are associated with this process.
Want to learn more? There is a better solution at hand.

Have you heard of chemical peels?
They are those peels that go deep into the skin and repair every single imperfection they can find. Does it sound like a fairy-tale? Well, it may but it certainly isn't. This efficient treatment can improve your complexion by dealing with a wide range of conditions: sun-damaged skin, uneven pigmentation, dry skin areas, blackheads, pimples and the much-hated wrinkles.

The chemical peels that a man or woman can use on their own come in two basic categories: light peels and medium peels. The peels in the first category don't show very significant results with serious skin conditions. They are mostly used by those whose faces are young and good-looking and from time to time only need slight improvements to their skin; skin must be 'refreshed' once in a while and cleaned more deeply that the ordinary face wash or scrub can do.

Medium peels are rather different than light peels. Due to their chemical composition, they are stronger than the light peels and perform better and deeper cleaning to your face. These peels include TCA (trichloroacetic acid) and salicylic acids. They are known to have the desired effect upon all the above-mentioned categories of skin. After using such a peel for the first time you will notice a reduction of your sun-damaged, dry or wrinkled areas and acne has a good chance to go away for good after two or three such treatments.

Chemical peels are not dangerous to use; you only have to be careful when you start using them because you don't know what kind of skin you have and in what way it might react. To feel safe, you should start with a light peel and after a while (about a month), when your skin has got used to this kind of treatment, you may try the medium type. It will bring much better results than the light peel.

One more thing to remember: protect your skin with a strong sun-screen lotion after using a chemical peel!

An effective chemical peel will give you better looking skin, take years off your age and reduce most skin problems you may have including acne, freckles, un-even skin, un-even pigmentation, age and liver spots.
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jessie_Ferguson

What is good plastic surgery?

What is good plastic surgery? Well as the title of the article suggests it would actually be surgery that has been carried out successfully. When carrying out any form of surgery, it is important that you choose the right surgeon for the job. Just because a surgeon has been carrying out plastic surgery for 10 years does not totally qualifying them to be expert in the line of plastic surgery you need carrying out. For example the surgeon you may have chosen could have carried out countless ear operations and not many face lifts. Therefore always ask to see a portfolio of their work and insists on talking to past patients.

Plastic surgery should help you gain a better quality of life. It would be wonderful to live in a world where everyone is truly accepted, regardless of their physical appearance, and while this type of world might one day evolve, these days, being different is undeniably difficult. Plastic surgery is normally carried out to correct birth defects or injuries sustained during an accident whereas cosmetic surgery is carried out purely for beautification reasons. As part of ensuring you do end up with good plastic surgery, the surgeon will carryout a series of tests before hand to establish your suitability as a candidate. This may include making recommendations to your diet and personal habits, such as stopping smoking for a few weeks to help with the healing process.

A good tip is to make sure you ask the surgeon all the relevant questions relating to your surgery and any issues that you need to make sure you have covered after the surgery. Why not ask a good friend or a family member to accompany you to the surgery during the consultation? There are rules are regulations all surgeons need to abide by to ensure you do end up with good results after your surgery and these would include a thorough consultation before hand. Please do not be afraid to ask any questions. After all it is your body that will be operated upon. Any type of surgery is not to be taken light heartily.
The location of where you carrying out the surgery are also important. After all you may need to travel a distance to ensure you find a surgeon that is actually qualified and experienced in the type of surgery you need. The clinic needs to have the most up to date equipment for your safety, the physician's should be qualified to use the equipment and perform the cosmetic surgery.

As mentioned above, you need to check your doctor's and facilities qualifications. Verify the doctor's credentials with the relevant medical boards.
The reason you want to have plastic surgery also matters. A health professional will speak with you to determine if you are a candidate for cosmetic or plastic surgery. They will assess your needs and reasons, ultimately they can determine if you will have the procedure based on your mental health. When we talk about plastic surgery, our focus is towards those surgeons who are professionally competent and experienced to mold and reshape the body in a specialized manner.

The motivating factor that underlies plastic surgery is that it can bring about impressive cosmetic enhancements to drastically improve a person’s personality in terms of appearance. This is particularly prevalent when one considers the importance of good looks and personality in the hard edge world of the glamour and entertainment industry like Hollywood. Every second day, you hear of celebrities popping in and out for cosmetic surgery who opted for some kind of surgery or the other to improve their personality or a specific body part.

We all agree that cosmetic surgery is one of the most popularly preferred operations done these days because it helps to improve the overall look as well as the personality of a person. After the surgery, what happens is that the person feels like a new, changed person and therefore, a lot more confident about facing life. The surgery is thus a motivating factor for a lot of celebrities and others because it increases their feeling of self esteem by making them look so much younger and attractive to the rest of the World. The surgery should ideally be conducted by an expert doctor who is well qualified and experienced in this field otherwise, it may be disastrous and dangerous for the patient, hence research into the surgeon's credentials is paramount here.
http://www.plastic-surgeryadvisor.com/ Plastic Surgery

A new era for the modern man

I want you to think for a moment, what is a typical male?
Who pops into your head? Is it tough and silent like Humphrey Bogart or popular and stylish like David Beckham? Depending on your generation you would obviously have a different person in mind.
I would like to focus on one aspect and attempt to blur the division. Does the typical male use skin products? Does it make him less of a man? Perhaps the new millennium has shattered the image of a typecast male, distorted the gender boundary and turned him into a metrosexual. A metrosexual is a new buzzword that basically means a straight guy that likes to indulge in traditionally female pursuits.

Its official! Men do wear make up and not just on the TV and movies, and I'm all for it! All you have to do is walk in to the nearest department store and you will see a slew of shelves dedicated to men's cosmetics to cater to the male vanity. Grooming seems to have taken a strong foothold in the male daily routine. Men have gone a long way from the simple $2 a litre apple scented shampoo of the early 80's to a clinically tested (not on animals of course) hypoallergenic $21.95 pineapple facial skin scrub from the Body Shop! There is now even a company called Menaji that specializes in male cosmetics.

A market survey from NPD Group, a market information company, confirmed that in 2002 American men spent $1 billion in grooming products of which $47 million was just for skincare products. Nowadays men have no qualms about getting the odd facial or manicure to have that competitive advantage over their more slothful brothers.
But I want to get personal. I just presented to you figures based on the general population. I am going to ask you to fess up. Raise your hand proudly and admit you have used a cosmeitc. Welcome to be metrosexual brotherhood!

In my book, a cosmetic is any of the following: moisturizers, skin toners, shaving cream that has aloe or any moisturizing additive, facial washes, blemish removers or masks. Do any of these products that I have presented here look familiar to you?
Don't be alarmed! I am not trying to put you on the spot. Apparently 9 of 10 males believe that looking good is essential in the business place.
I must confess I actually own and use most of the products I listed before. I use the shaving cream because I don't fancy shaving scars. The moisturizer and toner help keep my face moist and avoid having a dry flaky face in the morning after a shower. I use the nose pack simply because I like to admire my blackheads after I use it. The strip of paper resembles a yellowish black forest of trees on a white background.

I believe we all want to look good. When we look good, we actually feel confident. It's amazing but when I wear a good suit I stand a little straighter. The sudden increase of males using vanity products is just a sign of the times. If it works for 50% of the population, why not give moisturizers a try. Facial soaps are better for you than normal soap so why not try it. We all want to look healthier don't we? Besides, there is no gender when it comes to health.
I predict a trend that more and more men will be more conscientious of well being both physically and mentally. The typical male is only a subjective term bound to the ideals of the current generation. My generation says that looking healthy is genderless. My generation says that there is a demand for male skin care products. If a man wants to have flaky skin all day and a red bloody neck after each shave then that's his prerogative. Using a better product doesn't make him less of a man but a smarter man.
Read more interesting articles from the male perspective at http://www.thirtiesclub.com/categories/Single/For-Men
